Annette Funicello, an American singer and actor. She is best known for her role as one of the original "Mouseketeers" in the show 'Mickey Mouse Club.' When she was in her teens, Annette began to sing and became a household name for her hit songs, 'TallPaul' as well as Pineapple Princess'. Annette was an introverted girl who grew up in Utica in the company of Italian immigrants. Annette was determined to pursue her dream of becoming an entertainer and began dancing and acting. Around the middle of 1950, she was featured in a number of Disney sketches in the role of part of one the "Mouseketeers" which earned her significant fame. Annette's 'Disney persona was shed after she turned an adult and started playing roles for adults. She is best remembered as one of the first actors to introduce the concept of "beach party". Her roles included 'Pajama Party', 'How to Stuff a Wild Bikini", and "Beach Party'. Her music albums were released at times. Annette was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1992.
